Alastair Cook excited to become England Test captain

Batsman Alastair Cook says it has been a "strange 24 hours" and he has "huge boots to fill" as he replaces Andrew Strauss as England Test captain.

Strauss has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, denying his decision to quit was influenced by the furore over Kevin Pietersen's axing from the team.

Already the one-day captain, Cook will take charge of his country in Tests for the first time in the four-match tour of India in November.
