Captain Stuart Broad concedes that England batted "particularly badly" as they slumped to 80 all out against India and a record Twenty20 defeat.
The all-rounder felt England gave "a few freebies away" as India scored 170 having been put into bat, but defends the balance of the side in which Tim Bresnan was preferred to Samit Patel.
England's win on Friday over Afghanistan had already ensured progress to the Super Eight stage of the ICC World Twenty20, where they will face either West Indies or Ireland on Thursday.
