New Year Honours: Sir Bradley Wiggins 'amused' by knighthood
Bradley Wiggins says he intends to use his knighthood for "comedy purposes" and jokes he will ask fellow riders in the Tour de France peloton to address him correctly.
The 32-year-old Englishman has won seven Olympic medals, including four golds, and has been recognised after a spectacular year of success in 2012.
Wiggins became the first Briton to win the Tour de France; followed that up with Olympic gold in the time trial; and was crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year in December.
