Alex Dowsett breaks iconic hour record

Britain's Alex Dowsett breaks cycling's iconic hour record in front of a boisterous crowd at the Manchester Velodrome.

The 26-year-old Commonwealth time-trial champion covered 52.937km in 60 minutes to become the fourth person to break the record in the last eight months.

Dowsett, who suffers from haemophilia, said afterwards it was "a day I'll never forget".
