Scott Mitchell says lack of BDO world championship is 'very sad'

Scott Mitchell lifted the iconic British Darts Organisation world championship trophy in 2015 at the Lakeside Country Club.

But this year, after the BDO went into liquidation, there is no world championship for the first time since 1977.

Mitchell, from the New Forest, says the organisation's demise - and the absence of the competition from this year's calendar - is "very sad".
