Sir Alex Ferguson praises Paul Scholes for his "important" influence over the squad after the 37-year-old opened the scoring with his first goal since coming out of retirement in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Bolton.

Ferguson also says referees chief Mike Riley needs to clarify the rules of the game after Zat Knight is not sent off for his challenge on Danny Welbeck.
