Blackburn's Adam Henley undecided over Wales future

Blackburn Rovers and Wales Under-19 defender Adam Henley has said he is keeping his options open over which country he'll commit his long-term future to.

The 17-year-old is being tipped to make the step up from the Wales Under-19 team to Chris Coleman's senior side after an impressive debut season in the Premier League.

But the full-back, who turned professional at Ewood Park last December days after making his full debut in a 1-1 draw at Liverpool, also qualifies for England and the United States.

He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to an American father and a Welsh mother and moved to England when he was two-years-old.

Henley has represented Wales at Under-19 level and has also featured in Wales Under-21 squads.

Bu he is free to switch his allegiance to the United States or England because he hasn't yet played a competitive game for the full Wales team.

"It's a hard question to answer," Henley told BBC Wales' Sport Wales programme.

"I've got three options, but I'm still a young lad and I don't really want to tie myself down. I think that's the way I should go about it at the moment."
