Sir Alex Ferguson backs Rio Ferdinand for Euro 2012
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says experience will be "important" when Roy Hodgson picks his England side, and praises Rio Ferdinand for his "fantastic season".
Ferguson adds that Hodgson has the "right profile" to manage England, and believes your 60s is the ideal age to take charge of the national side.
The United boss adds that if title-rivals Manchester City win 3-0 on Sunday against Newcastle, it will be "impossible" for his side to make up the goal difference.
