Ballymena's Gary Thompson missed the best chance of the match in the first half when his weak pointblank effort was saved by Crusaders keeper Sean O'Neill.

United manager Glenn Ferguson was content with a point while Crusaders boss Stephen Baxter felt the game "lacked a bit of quality".
