Archive: A look back at John Terry's career

In July, BBC Sport took a look at the career of former England captain John Terry, after he was cleared of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.

Terry received a not guilty verdict at July's trial but was subsequently charged by the Football Association two weeks later for using alleged "abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour" towards the QPR defender during a game in October 2011.

In September 2012, the 31-year-old defender announced his retirement from international football in response to the FA's disciplinary charge.
