England football: Roy Hodgson urges social media caution
England manager Roy Hodgson admits social networking sites are a "part of life" but players need to be "careful" using them, as his side prepare to face San Marino in a 2014 World Cup qualifier on Friday.
It comes after a number of recent cases of high-profile players causing controversy on sites like Twitter, including Ashley Cole insulting the FA in a tweet and Ryan Bertrand sending a tweet containing a swear word.
Speaking ahead of the group H encounter against the European minnows, Hodgson says he has made Wayne Rooney captain because he "enjoys working" with the Manchester United striker.
