Players snub Kick It Out anti-racism campaign

BBC Sport looks at the debate surrounding footballers' attitudes to the Kick It Out anti-racism campaign over the weekend.

Reading striker Jason Roberts stated last week that he would not be wearing a T-shirt as a protest against the organisation because he feels they are not doing enough to combat racism in football.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson disagreed with Roberts and said all players should back the initiative, only for United defender Rio Ferdinand to also boycott the T-shirt in the warm-up for United's match against Stoke.

In total, more than 30 players from eight Premier League clubs chose not to support the initiative by refusing to wear a campaign T-shirt.
