Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he did not expect Laurent Koscielny to be sent off as his side fell to a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

Koscielny was sent off after 10 minutes and first-half goals from James Milner and Edin Dzeko sealed the win for the away side.

The defeat, Arsenal's first at home to Manchester City since 1975, means the Gunners remain sixth in the Premier League.
