Man City 2-2 Liverpool: Brendan Rodgers defends Sturridge goal

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers defends his players after Daniel Sturridge scored a controversial equaliser in their 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

City appealed for a foul on Edin Dzeko in the build up to Sturridge's goal, but Liverpool played on with the City striker lying injured.

The result leaves Liverpool seventh in the Premier League, nine points adrift of the top four.
