Sunderland 0-1 Manchester United: We showed courage - Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says his side showed "a lot of courage" to win 1-0 at Sunderland and move a step closer to winning a 20th Premier League title.

Robin Van Persie's attempted cross deflected in off the unfortunate Sunderland defender Titus Bramble just before the half hour mark and the visitors showed some "determined defending" in the face of a much better second-half display from the home side.

Manchester United have now become the first team in English top-flight history to win 25 of their first 30 league games in a season.
