Football: How Fifa's new goal-line technology will work
Fifa have announced that GoalControl is set to provide goal-line technology at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and here is a demonstration of how the system will work.
The German-based manufacturer uses 14 high-speed cameras around the pitch fixed in elevated positions and if the ball has crossed the goal line, a vibration and optical signal is sent back to the officials' watches within one second.
GoalControl will be used at this year's Confederations Cup in Brazil and will be used a year later, provided the performance reaches the requirements.
