England defender Phil Jagielka wants to 'impress' Roy Hodgson
Phil Jagielka says England's upcoming friendly matches against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil are a chance for players to "put down a little marker" and "impress the manager" ahead of their next World Cup qualifiers in September.
Wednesday night's match at Wembley will be the first time England have faced the Republic since 1995, with Jagielka also looking forward to a "fantastic" trip to face Brazil in the first game at the redeveloped 78,000-capacity Maracana stadium.
