Michael Essien says 'daddy' Jose Mourinho wants him at Chelsea

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refers to midfielder Michael Essien as "my son" in a press conference with the player in Malaysia.

Essien concedes he was having a few "difficulties" at Chelsea last year, so was pleased when "daddy" called to ask him to move on loan to Real Madrid, where Mourinho was in charge.

The Ghanaian said he "really enjoyed" his time with Madrid but is "very happy to be back at Chelsea".
