England sacking unexpected - Hope Powell

Former England women's coach Hope Powell admits she did not know her job was under threat and is "disappointed" she is no longer involved with the Football Association.

The 46-year-old, who had been in charge of England since 1998, was sacked last month after the team were eliminated in the group stages of Euro 2013.

Powell says a role with the FA is "not up for discussion" so she is adjusting to life away from football and will look at other opportunities in the sport.
