Derry City managerial vacancy attracting worldwide interest
Derry City chief executive Sean Barrett says the club hopes to appoint a new manager by the third week in November and that the job is attracting worldwide interest.
"There have been applications from far and wide," said the Derry official.
"There has been one from Africa, some from the UK as well as several from Ireland north and south."
Both of last Sunday's FAI Cup managers Ian Baraclough and Mick Cooke are being linked with the Candystripes role along with ex-Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels, Roddy Collins, former Luton and Grimsby manager Mike Newell and previous Derry caretaker boss Peter Hutton.
Baraclough has indicated that he is open to offer despite Sligo's dramatic cup win while Cooke appears to be in the frame after not having his Drogheda contract renewed.
