Michael O'Neill pleased by new Northern Ireland contract
Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says that negotiations which led to his two-year contract extension were "straightforward".
"There was always an indication from the board that they wanted me to continue and I certainly was keen to continue and so the negotiations were done in the space of about 24 hours," added O'Neill.
The Northern Ireland boss doesn't believe that Martin O'Neill's appointment as Republic of Ireland boss will have any major impact on the numbers of Northern Ireland-born players opting to declare for the Republic.
"It's not so much about the manager but more that the association (the Football Association of Ireland) have taken the stance they have," said Michael O'Neill.
