Man City 6-0 West Ham: Sam Allardyce says Hammers could not cope
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce says his team could not compete with the "quality and talent" of Manchester City after they were beaten 6-0 in the Capital One Cup at the Etihad Stadium.
A hat-trick from Alvaro Negredo, two goals from Edin Dzeko and one from Yaya Toure gave Manuel Pellegrini's side an emphatic victory in the semi-final first leg.
That defeat follows a 5-0 loss at Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup and Allardyce says his players will need to be "mentally and physically tough" when they face Cardiff City in the Premier League on Saturday.
