Man Utd 2-1 Sunderland: We did not play well enough - David Moyes

Manchester United boss David Moyes admits his side "didn't play well enough" in their Capital One Cup semi-final second leg penalty shoot-out defeat by Sunderland.

Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, United got back on level terms on aggregate through Jonny Evans's first-half goal.

United goalkeeper David De Gea fumbled a Phil Bardsley shot with only a minute remaining in extra-time, but Javier Hernandez responded a minute later to send the tie to penalty kicks.

Sunderland won 2-1 with only three of the 10 spot-kicks converted.
