Hull City's Steve Bruce is manager of the year - Alan Pardew

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew says Steve Bruce is "the manager of the year" after guiding Hull City to 11th in the Premier League table.

The Magpies travel to Hull on Saturday keen to avenge their 3-2 home defeat to the Tigers in September, and are expecting a tough test at the KC Stadium.

After Newcastle's 1-0 win at home to Aston Villa on Sunday, Pardew is counting his side out of the relegation battle, and says he will use the rest of the season to blood some of the club's young players.
