World Cup 2014: Alan Shearer backs Roy Hodgson to stay

Former England captain Alan Shearer tells BBC Sport that he would like to see Roy Hodgson stay in charge of the squad, despite his side facing an early World Cup exit.

Hodgson's team have lost their first two games in Group D and, if Italy fail to beat Costa Rica on Friday, then England are out.

Shearer went on to say "I would give Roy the chance to take England to the 2016 European Championship. He should get the opportunity to finish what he has started."
