World Cup 2014: Costa Rica 1-1 Greece (5-3 pens) highlights

Costa Rica beat Greece 5-3 on penalties after their 2014 World Cup round of 16 match ended 1-1 after extra time in Recife.

Bryan Ruiz put Costa Rica ahead, but a second bookable offence for Oscar Duarte meant they finished the game with ten men. Greece had to wait till the last minute of normal time for their equaliser, courtesy of Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

The Greeks went on to have the better of the chances in extra-time, but Costa Rica prevailed in the penalty shoot-out after goalkeeper Keylor Navas saved the final strike by Theofanis Gekas.

Costa Rica will now play the Netherlands in the quarter final on Saturday 5 July.
