CSKA Moscow fan ban damages football - Manuel Pellegrini

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says playing his side's Champions League match away at CSKA Moscow behind closed doors damages football.

Uefa ordered the Russian club to play three Champions League home games without any fans present as punishment for a series of offences including racist chanting, but Pellegrini says the ban means Tuesday's match will not be the "show" it needs to be.

City travel to Moscow fresh from their Sergio Aguero-inspired 4-1 win over Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, but Pellegrini was quick to defend another of his star players, Yaya Toure, from criticism over his form this season.
