Southampton 1-2 Man United: Saints were better - Louis van Gaal

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal admits Southampton were the better team despite losing to his side 2-1 at St Mary's.

Two Robin van Persie goals, either side of Graziano Pelle's equaliser, secured victory for the visitors, who had just three shots at goal compared to Saints' 15.

United had six touches in the opposition box over the 90 minutes, 26 fewer than Southampton.
