Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal 'wanted to kiss' Memphis Depay

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he "wanted to kiss" Memphis Depay after the Netherlands forward scored twice to inspire a 3-1 win over Club Brugge in their Champions League play-off first leg.

Brugge took a surprise lead through Michael Carrick's own goal but Depay scored with a low strike to equalise, before brilliantly cutting inside and curling in a 25-yard shot to put United ahead.

Brugge defender Brandon Mechele was sent off for two bookings after 80 minutes and Depay crossed for Marouane Fellaini to head in a late third.
