Watch: Harte 'wasn't surprised' by Derry approach

Mickey Harte says he "wasn't surprised" by being approach to take over the Derry football job, adding that "it wasn't a very difficult decision" to accept the Oak Leaf role.

The former Tyrone manager added that he was totally unbothered by the strong criticism that came from some quarters to his appointment.

"It didn’t shock or surprise me at all because I don’t indulge in that kind of stuff. Whatever goes on on these other platforms that I’m not on, people would need to realise that it doesn’t bother me because I don’t hear it, I don’t see it, I don’t read it," Harte told BBC Sport Northern Ireland.

Harte added that he was also sceptical that many GAA fans in either Tyrone or Derry are genuinely upset by him being installed in the Oak Leaf post.

"A few people can make lots of noise and then give the impression that everybody is talking."
