Golfer Harry Ellis targets Walker Cup
Hampshire golfer Harry Ellis says he is targeting a place in the Great Britain and Ireland team for September's Walker Cup, following his breakthrough year in 2012.
Ellis, 17, knocked two years off six-time major winner Nick Faldo's record to become the youngest winner of the English Amateur Championship last year, when he was 16.
And he says he is looking to build on that victory and soon turn professional - but only when he feels is ready,
"I look back on 2012 and it was a massive year for me," Ellis told BBC South Today.
"In my progression as a golfing career having that win in early August at the England Amateur Championships was a massive door opener for me."
"It's a lovely thing to have and hopefully it will stand for a long time.
"I've got a long way to go. I want to get better as quickly as possible but this game is about being patient."
