Gary Player supports Royal Portrush for Open Championship

Golf legend Gary Player says he would love to see the Open Championship staged at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.

Player, winner of nine majors, won the Senior British Open at Portrush in 1997 and described it as one of the best links courses in the world.

The 78-year-old South African was speaking at the Masters, where he predicted Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy and Australian Jason Day would be leading contenders.
