Adam Scott gets his Masters defence off to "a great start" with an opening round of 69, three under par and just one shot off the lead.

The Australian carded five birdies, with the round's only blemish a double bogey after going in the water at the short 12th.

American Bill Haas leads by one stroke with an opening 68, whilst Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy and Scotland's Stephen Gallacher are the leading Brits on one under par.
