Rory McIlroy happy with halfway position at US Open

Rory McIlroy says he is happy with his halfway position at the US Open - despite trailing runaway leader Martin Kaymer by nine shots.

The Northern Irishman is one under par but said German Kaymer's performance had made that "look average".

McIlroy described Kaymer as a good frontrunner but felt a lot could change over the remaining 36 holes.
