Rory McIlroy says his US Open at Pinehurst was 'a struggle'

Rory McIlroy describes his week at the US Open as 'a struggle' after a closing 73 left him tied for 23rd place on six over par at Pinehurst.

The 2011 champion had previously carded rounds of 71, 68 and 74 and admitted to being 'frustrated' at times as "the course played progressively harder as the week went on".

McIlroy now turns his attention to this week's Irish Open at Fota Island in Cork.
