Open 2014: Rory McIlroy aims for improvement at Hoylake

Rory McIlroy says he wants to improve his form at The Open this week after a number of close failures since he began his professional career in 2006.

His best finish came at St Andrews in 2010 where he finished third, but it could have been so much better after an opening round of 63.

The Northern Irishman also says he wants to add a third major to his US Open and PGA Championship titles, leaving him a Masters title away from a career grand slam.
