Ryder Cup: Rory McIlroy happy to be America's main target
Rory McIlroy says he is happy to be singled out as America's number one target during this week's Ryder Cup - and considers it a compliment to be targeted by Europe's opponents.
The Northern Ireland golfer adds that it will give him extra incentive to play well in the biennial matches, which start at Gleneagles on Friday.
"This event means more to us than any other that we play in," said McIlroy, who has announced that his Charitable Foundation will host the Irish Open over the next few years, beginning at Royal County Down next year.
