The Open 2016: Shane Lowry hopes to learn from US Open meltdown
Ireland's Shane Lowry says he hopes he will learn from the experience of throwing away a four-shot lead in the final round of the US Open at Oakmont last month.
Lowry tees up for this week's Open Championship at Troon refusing to be haunted by that collapse, which denied him a first success in a major championship.
"For three-and-a-half rounds everything was going well, I just let it fall a bit on the back nine on Sunday," said the Irishman.
"I let it get to me a bit at the Scottish Open last week but I have to go out and play my own game."
