Masters 2017: Rory McIlroy happy after finishing first round on level par

Rory McIlroy says he is satisfied after an opening round of level-par 72 in difficult conditions at the Masters left him seven shots behind leader Charley Hoffman of the USA.

McIlroy was three over after 12 holes but posted three birdies in four holes to move up the leaderboard at Augusta.

The world number two from Northern Ireland is aiming to win the tournament to complete a career Grand Slam of major golf titles.
