The incomparable Sir Peter O'Sullevan
BBC Sport's Clare Balding remembers the life and career of former BBC horse racing commentator Sir Peter O'Sullevan, who has died aged 97.
An icon in the sport, he commentated on 50 Grand Nationals and 14,000 races in total before retiring in 1997.
Born in County Kerry in the Republic of Ireland, he was the BBC's main racing commentator for half a century and was also a successful racehorse owner.
O'Sullevan was also racing correspondent of the Daily Express for 36 years and worked for the Press Association.
