Belfast Giants win Elite League title in record time
The Belfast Giants are welcomed home by General Manager Todd Kelman after clinching the Elite League title on Sunday night.
A 3-1 victory over the Nottingham Panthers, followed by surprise defeats for nearest challengers Sheffield Steelers and Dundee Stars, secured a fourth league crown for the Giants and Kelman praised his players for winning the title with a record 10 games to spare.
Netminder Stephen Murphy admitted he did not think they would secure the title until Friday's home game against Coventry, adding "it's a strange way to win it, but you take it any way you can".
