Todd Kelman explains surprise move from Belfast to Cardiff

Todd Kelman says the opportunity to move to Cardiff Devils as part of a Canadian consortium who will buy the club was "too good an opportunity to turn down" as he quits his role as Belfast Giants general manager.

"I'm doing this with a group of businessmen I know in Canada who have always been egging me on to find a team that they could take over and let me run for them," Kelman told BBC Sport Northern Ireland.

Kelman has been at the Giants since 2000 when he was part of the club's first ever squad.

The Canadian was appointed general manager after his retirement in 2007.

Kelman helped the Giants clinch two League titles during his playing career at the Odyssey Arena and his administrative stint saw Belfast winning two league titles including this year's triumph.
