Kickboxing: The small Welsh club taking world by storm
It is rare for three athletes from the same country to reach world finals, let alone three from the same small town.
But a kickboxing club in Port Talbot is making its mark on the world stage, with three fighters from the club reaching finals at the World Championships in Portugal.
Kieran Jones, 26, became the first male British world champion in 26 years when he beat world number two from Turkey Karabulut Furkan by unanimous decision in the -51kg category.
Jones had also defeated the reigning world champion, Baimuratov Dinmukhamed of Kazakhstan, in the semi-finals of the tournament in Albufeira last November.
Tennessee Randall, 26, and Dalton John, 24, also both won silver medals, so it is little wonder that coach and head of Kickboxing Wales Mark Watkins is confident for the future.
He said: "All three athletes are so committed and winning world titles for Great Britain is inspiring the next lot of juniors."
