British MotoGP: Bautista takes first pole
Gresini's Alvaro Bautista takes his first MotoGP pole position at the British MotoGP with a lap of two minutes 03.303 seconds ahead of Yamaha's Ben Spies and Honda's Casey Stoner, with championship leader Jorge Lorenzo fourth.
A delighted Bautista, the 2006 125cc champion, reveals he felt "comfortable" riding in the mixed weather conditions at Silverstone, while 2011 winner Stoner struggled with his set up, criticising his Honda as "a real handful".
Britain's Cal Crutchlow did not take part in qualifying after crashing in the final practice session and was taken to hospital to assess his injuries.
