Japanese MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo claims wet pole at Motegi

Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo beats Honda's Marc Marquez to pole position in a wet qualifying session for the Japanese MotoGP at Motegi.

Lorenzo was fastest in an old-style 75-minute qualifying session after Saturday morning and all of Friday's practice sessions were cancelled because of thick fog.

Spaniard Lorenzo must finish third or higher on Sunday to prevent compatriot Marquez, 20, being crowned as the first man to win the title in his rookie season since Kenny Roberts in 1978.
