NI striker Josh Magennis says his Hanover role was 'roughing up' Germans
Northern Ireland striker Josh Magennis says he enjoyed his physical battle with Mats Hummels as he undertook a lone striker's role in the 2-0 World Cup qualifier defeat in Germany.
Julian Draxler and Sami Khedira hit early goals for the world champions but Magennis worked effectively for Michael O'Neill's side as they created a number of openings of their own.
"It was just important it wasn't a cricket score," said the 26-year-old Charlton forward.
"My job was just about trying to rough them up as much as I could."
