BBC Olympics: Get involved with... Canoeing

The Lee Valley White Water Centre and Eton Dorney will be the venues for the Olympic canoe events.

Helen Reeves, who won bronze at the Athens Olympics in 2004, told BBC Sport how a television programme kickstarted her canoeing career.

If you are new to canoeing and kayaking, a starter course is a good idea. There are clubs and watersports centres all over the United Kingdom, with some offering teaching for mixed groups or for novices.
