London 2012: Ryan Lochte storms to men's 400m medley gold

Ryan Lochte wins the first gold of London 2012's swimming contest in the men's 400m individual medley, Brazil's Thaigo Pereira finishes second, with Japan's Kosuke Hagino third.

The 2008 Olympic champion Michael Phelps was fourth, nearly four seconds behind American compatriot Lochte.

27-year-old Lochte says it is now his "time" to shine and is hoping for a few more medals at the London games.
