Ben Ainslie makes Olympic sailing history

A round-up of the day's sailing from Weymouth, where Great Britain's Ben Ainslie clinches his fourth straight gold medal by finishing ninth in a tense medal race, pipping Denmark's Jonas Hogh-Christensen on the final day of the Finn class.

In taking the victory Ainslie overtakes another Dane - Paul Elvstrom - who won four golds up to 1960, as the most decorated Olympic sailor in history.

Elsewhere on the South coast, Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson are denied a second successive Olympic gold as Sweden's Fredrik Loof and Max Salminen won the final medal race to clinch the title in the Star category. BBC Sport's Patrick Gearey reports.
