Scott Hastings says a series win for the British and Irish Lions would be 'very special'.

Former player Scott Hastings says a series win for the British and Irish Lions in New Zealand would be "very special".

Hastings toured with The British and Irish Lions in Australia in 1989 and again in New Zealand four years later.

The Lions have not won a series against New Zealand since 1971.

Warren Gatland has been named as head coach for the tour.

It will be the second time the Kiwi has coached the Lions, having claimed a 2 - 1 series win against Australia in 2013.
